CC2C Page 50 Challenge No 23

Linda over at Studio L3 has set the next Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge as Page 50 which is all to do with Distress Markers.  For all the details on how to participate go to her blog and then follow the instructions in Tim's book to be able to create something to enter.
I had such fun creating this card using his techniques.  The photo above is the stamp and markers I used to be able to create this card.  The stamp is a very old PSX one which is no longer available.

CC101 Challenge

Over on the Face Book group for those of us who have graduated from Tim's on line class Creative Chemistry 101, there is a challenge to use an embossing folder and Distress Stickles in Clear Rock Candy...It ends 30 September...Nothing quite like the last minute to get me going! LOL!

I decided to make an envelope and matching ATC for this challenge.

I put the already completed and stamped envelope into the embossing folder and embossed it then re stamped the sentiment and cut out the DREAM and FEARS put them on foam tape and stuck them over the existing words.
I then used Salty Ocean from the Summer Distress range to highlight the embossing followed by a good dose of Stickles applied with my finger.

Thanks for the visit

What's on my workdesk Wednesday 172? Moulding stuff

I am about to do a video for CC101 Student University which is a follow on by us students on a closed group on Face Book from Tim's Creative Chemistry 101 online class.  I have offered to show a friend how to make moulds so the samples and product is ready on my desk.

Then lurking in the corner is the new metallic Distress stain which I played with last night on an ATC or 2  together with my favourite Distress ink called Picked Raspberry from the Summer collection.  The metallic really is such fun to play with and quite delicious!

Short and sweet today, so I can go peruse desks at my leisure on Stamping Ground where Julia hosts us each and every week for a snoop and a peek at everyone's desks, tidy or messy....

Oh and for those of you wanting to see my finished page that I was busy with last week it is HERE

Thanks for the visit

Spring Tradition

As I was printing this years Spring photos to scrap, I suddenly thought it would be good to go back in time and find the ones taken each year and do a page about it.  What I discovered was that we missed two years for what ever reason...and then carried on.  Wow did it take me a while to wade through all my photos (I have clocked a few cameras at 10 000 pics!) to find what I was looking for.  My filing system is not always that accurate on this computer as it has been through a few hard drives and stuff is stored all over the place...Something to sort out on the next rainy day...

Back to my page...

Close up of the stencilled and stamped flowers under the punched layered edge above and below is a close up of the top of the page where I only used stencils and distress ink over the top.

I used light yellow card stock and red.  The rest was all ink.

Finnabair Inspired page

I have been so inspired by Anna (aka Finnabair) lately as she travels and inspires others to create the most beautiful textured masterpieces.

I used locally made chipboard lazer cuts and one of my flowers that I love making which I coloured with Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain together with Fired Brick Distress Stain, randomly covered with Gold paint dabber in areas.  I did the "splat" technique with the Walnut Stain dabber which had some Peeled paint still on its dabber which gave a wonderful blended splat!  I used Archival ink to stamp with once my photo was down so that I could go onto it for a more continuous look.  Finally I covered select areas with Forever Red Perfect Pearl Mist.

What's on my Workdesk Wednesday 171

I have had a tidy up!  After making Tim's September tag yesterday it looked like a disaster zone, so I cleaned up and got out this page I started playing around with last week...This is as far as it got, then real life kicked in and I had to go to work! The lazer chippies you saw on my desk last week are on here, but still need to be coloured etc...
So now I have shown you my desk, I am off to see what is on your desk, courtesy of our hostess Julia who is not ashamed to bare all...

Thanks for the visit.

12 tags of 2012...September

Hi there bloggers

AT LAST I have had a gap in my crazy schedule create and show you my version of Tim's September tag from his series 12 Tags of 2012.  If you want to know how I did this, please go to the link for his wonderfully clear, step by step instructions.

I did not have the typewriter die or the light bulb, nor did I have that cute little circular metal tag that he put a T on with the clear bubble on top...so as he advocates...use what you got and I did!

Thanks for looking

Quick video

I thought I would share with you a quick video I did on how to make a rose with the pine-cone die by Tim Holtz.

Have fun

What's on my Workdesk Wednesday 170? lazer chippies and a crease mat.

Ok so yet another week has evaporated before my eyes!  Are you feeling the same way about this year?  I really need a pause button so I can catch my breath and then carry on.  I still have August up on my calendar and I am too scared to turn it over cos I might not like what I see!  I guess I am just going to have to suck it up and get on with it cos September is marching on regardless!

So what you see on my desk is the result of some shopping I did yesterday when I went to collect my die and crease mat that the Scrapbook Factory shop had especially ordered in for me.  Love that store it always makes a plan to get you what you want.  I had seen Tim use the crease mat in a video shot during CHA this July and realized I needed one to stop the paper cracking on the score lines when I die cut my pocket envelope and mini easel. (Tim thought he was the only one who had never heard of this crease mat...he was not alone...)

I got myself a new web cam during the week and have found that shooting my CC101 Student University videos with it have worked a real treat.  It still has some pixalization but I think that is our countries lack of band width speed to upload the image fast enough to You Tube.  The image quality is still much better than my "dinosaur" round one which I have had for 3 years or more... and it uploads instantly instead of taking 10 hours using my sony camera...it has been a learning curve of note!

So now I am off to see what you have to show on your desk for me to oogle at curtisy of our hostess Julia and her blog called Stamping Ground where she tries valiantly to keep us all in order...

Thanks for the visit
