What's on My Workdesk Wednesday 258? Castles in the sky!

Hello there fellow Desker!  Welcome to my desk over in Cape Town, South Africa where the sun is not yet still up at 7:20am!  This is my desk as it stands this morning after some retail therapy yesterday...9 more Tim Stencils, 3 distress glitters and some black Wendy Vecchi embossing paste. (out of shot are the new long Tim Shears too)

Also on my desk is the castle in the sky which I made from an SVG cut file bought from SVG Cuts as a Mothers Day gift from me to me!

Then there is the old kitchen spice rack that was plain pine colour till I got hold of it with the Annie Slone Chalk paint.  This is my tester piece as I want to paint my mothers wall units that are looking every bit their dated selves from the 80's in their yellow pine state with rattan fronts...
Above is an overview of the chaos around me...it will never be a "Pinterest" beautiful space but it is oh so funcional!

This is me having a laugh during the week!  Typo had a sale and I found these Crime scene strips that are supposed to be made into paper chains...well I stuck 5 together and taped it across my son's bedroom door.  My sense of  humour I guess.   He even found it funny!
Lastly, here is Marmalade on his pillow that he has purloined from the lounge as his and we put it where ever we are in the house so he will keep us company.  My son carries him on it from room to room like a king on his throne!

The ATCs got posted on Saturday, so hopefully they should get to their deskers in time for the party in 2 weeks!

So this is me.

See you at your desk over at Julias place .

Bella

  2. I don't care how tidy I am, my desk and studio will never be pinterest perfect, either. But function can never be overrated.

Nice way to test your wood and paint by using the spice rack. Bet you find a good altered use for it, too.

  4. I think a pinterest board is needed that shows REAL crafters desks, not the picture perfect staged ones that look good but are clearly for show. :)
And I LURVE spice racks - so useful for we crafters, aren't they?

    Happy WOYWW!

Crime tape is a good one - don't think my daughter would be too amused though..... Love those masks, need to get more!
Thanks for sharing your creative space and I hope you have a good week too.

I love your space...don't want it to look Pinterest Perfect - it's great as it is and there's always something interesting to see. I like the look of that castle in the sky...used to love making little house out of card when I was a youngster :-)

  17. Best to see a work area as it is. Yes, it is a while since FS was with you - wonder if her furniture you made is still travelling with her. After Oz I will find out as I am going to have her home for a quick visit.
Hope all is well with you and the family.

  22. A perfect craft room is a contradiction in terms. If it were to be perfectly pristine, no-one could get any inspiration from it. I would settle for enough space to put a cutting board in place and my Gelli plate. Your driving instructor was a good teacher to get the reversing sorted first. My son had to do a towing course for the police, but he got it all perfect first time round so they sent him home rather than wasting any more time on lessons, but then he is one of those annoying folks who does everything well first time round. Hope you have a good week. xx Maggie #20

  24. Your space only gas to please you but it looks really sweet with all those cubbies to hide your stash in. Funny about your cat being carried around they are such a spoiled bunch. The renovations are going to take a long time I'm sure I'll be mentioning them lots lol. Thanks for the visit and will look forward to the happy mail hugs Nikki 6

  28. I would choose a functional craft space over a pinterest perfect one any day-making a mess is much more fun than tidying!!
