Advent Calendar for Mitform Castings

This is my creative team piece for Mitform Castings... It is my dream advent Calendar full of Mitform metal pieces.  Well... one can make wishes... can't you?
I have used a base from a shop called Action and I removed the laser cut design from the center and created a new one using Lady Vagabond 8x8 paper and the 3D fireplace from the kit.

Christmas star for Mitform Castings

Every year after Christmas I go to the stores to buy the bargains to alter for next Christmas!  I picked up this cardboard marquee star for 50c!

It came with the lights and battery pack
I painted the star to look rusty
Then added brown alcohol ink to the plastic bulb covers

I placed the Mitform Castings stars and glued them down.
Then I added the turquoise paint to make it look like verdigris

I popped the lights
I cut a back cover to hide the wires and hold everything in place
I folded up the edges so it fit like a box lid
I glued 4 of the 5 points so I can access the switch to turn the lights on and off
and... finished with adding some orange paint to the bulbs as they were still too bright.

Octoship Canvas for Mitform Castings

I really enjoyed creating this "Octoship" by mixing and matching parts of Stamperia moulds and then adding the perfect Mitform Castings metal pieces to finish it off.
I started with a base stenciled in Modelling paste and then covered that with the water based antiquing pastes by Pentart.
I used a babywipe to blend and remove the excess
Then I plotted my pieces.
I spay pained all my moulded pieces black and got out the gold Cerantica wax.
I waxed the stencil work on the canvas with copper on the left and gold on the right.
Using the turquoise antiquing gel I painted the Mitform pieces.
And put the whole canvas together.
Below are close ups of the various pieces

Steampunk Cuff for Mitform Castings

It is my turn as a Creative team member for Mitform Castings to inspire with a project.  I am off to the UK for a 4 day Steampunk event called the Asylum and I needed some accessory pieces to finish off an outfit. My inspiration was my vintage style compass and sun dial, purchased at the Vintage Market which I "MacGyvered"  from a table top version into a watch.

I took a cuff I had purchased and traced the pattern off it, then added holes with Eyelets and ribbon so I could wear it.
I started by asking my hubby to drill holes in the steam gauge so that I could rivet it on.
Then glued and riveted everything else on as well
I punched holes in the leather and used my rivet setter to anchor pieces in place.
The clock hands through the 1/4 gear were too tall for my rivets, so I used a nut and bolt to hold them on.

Mitform Casting World globe canvas

 Hello there

Today I have the pleasure of sharing this canvas that I made using the gorgeous Mitform Casting pieces.
The base paper is from Lady Vagabond Lifestyle background pad which I glued ontot he canvas.  The globe is a half a Christmas ornament with loose gears inside like a giant shaker on the A5 world texture impression sheet by Stamperia.
The actual globe stand I 3D printed from a file I found online.

Below you can see the step out photos of the progress as I worked on the canvas.
I planned where I wanted everything and set about gluing it and then painting the greyboard.  I added the art stones and then the castings
Here you can see close up shots of the castings
