I have had such fun improvising on this tag.
I only have the Attic Treasures stamp set which is the smaller version for ATCs, so I could use some of the stamps, but the big dress from had to be made with the die cut from Sewing Room together with the cotton reel for the bottom as I don't have any wooden ones to sand flat.
I had to stamp on white tissue paper and glued it onto my tag which I had covered in Brushed Corduroy Distress ink which coloured the tissue paper quite nicely.
The dress form is made from Tim's Kraft Core paper which I sanded to show up the embossing I did with the Vintage Dressmaker by Couture Creations.
I don't have a melting pot though I do have the Utee to go in it. (go figure) So all I did was to mini mist my rose with water, dip it in the Utee and heat, then while warm, dipped it again and heated it. This seemed to work quite well.
As for the oval custom cash key charm, I changed that for a stamp and facet to make the ornament to hang off the hanger. I also had a little pair of scissors which I thought appropriate to add to the mix on the twine.
So there you have my version of Tim's tag which you can find here together with all the instructions!
Thanks for the visit.
Bella

ReplyDeleteHey Bella , I follow your blog , but have never commented . I love this tag and I'm not into sewing . I think its very beautiful and love all your improvisations! Btw if you do decide to purchase a melting pot, please check out my online store. I have them I'm stock and I've beaten every price I have found on them :) I have UTEE too if you ever run out !
ReplyDeleteGreat improvisation, as always, Bella! Although as your stash is growing by leaps & bounds, you usually have plenty of "Tim stuff" to go for. Bet you are stalking your local postman this week, anxiously waiting for your spring inks to hit town?
ReplyDeleteThe tag looks. Amazing, love the dress form! Your alternative method for utee is better then mine! I'll keep it in mind.
ReplyDeleteI think your tag is terrific!!
ReplyDeleteI love your take on Tim's Tag!! The flower/mist/UTEE idea is ingenious--I might be stealing that idea! =D
ReplyDeleteOoh! This is lovely! The red really pops and I think I might have to take inspiration from you this month as I don't have all that Tim suggests either! Thank you for helping me along! x

ReplyDeleteLove your tag Belinda! I am also busty improvising like hell to get mine done! But that makes it so much more fun!!! I also did my dress form like yours, then did not like the size and discovered a Celeb8 dress form that I coloured with black and ginger alcohol inks...looks rather good! Love learning all these new techniques...
ReplyDeleteLove your embossed dress form!!!! The faux porcelain flowers turned out gorgeous! Fab tag!!!
