Hello fellow Wednesday desk hoppers...here is my desk after going crafting at a friend last night. My tote and my bag of papers to make cards. I thought I would get tons done, but I travelled too light...no punches, embossing folders, inks...I learned my lesson!
I got 2 and a half cards done in 2 and a half hours...an hour a card...not bad I guess considering we chatted and sorted through our stuff...but man that felt so unproductive.
So that's my desk this week, now I am off to see yours over at Julia's place called Stamping Ground where she hosts this huge desk hop and snoop!
Hmm, just looking at your desk I thought you were packing light...I find it harder to pack for card making than I do for crop! I need to take all my stamps with me and that's a trunk!! Never mind, the investment of friendship time is good..and hey, 2 cards is better than no cards!
ReplyDeleteOh forgot to say, have edited your link..it was linked to last wednesday so have changed it - no panic no worries, it was easier for me to do than it is for you to re-link!
ReplyDeletehi Belinda...2 cards not too shabby...I also take tons of stuff with me to crops, but never seem to have what I need...I am more productive at home...but chatting with creative friends is a lot of fun....I received your card todaY ..thank you..the flying pig with airmail on it made me smile...so did the stamp that said 'apemail' the c was very very feignt!! he he!! xx
ReplyDeleteWhen I go to crops I always look like a refugee with all my worldly posessions in tow and somehow I always leave the one thing I really need, at home.
ReplyDeleteHow is the weather in Cape Town? We are dying in this heat.
Happy WOYWW!

It's all about the friendship, exchanging ideas etc. You have just found what we all experience :) Away from all of our stuff..seldom works! Not in the group myself this week but wanted to say hello and offer warm wishes for 2013!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the bag. I have one of his other ones.
ReplyDeleteI am new to WYOWW and a friend of Sandee. I hope you get a chance to check out my blog and desk.

Well at least you made something last night and it's a start. No mess at home from it either. Happy crafty 2013!

I never get anything done when I go to a crop, too busy socializing and eating! lol But fun, eh? waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteHi bella
ReplyDeleteAh crafting with a friend is always tricky.... torn between actually crafting and having fun and chatting and having fun, looks like you managed to do a bit of both
thanks for sharing

I struggle with the what to take, what to leave at home and it's nearly always the things you don't take that you really needing!! Still, with the chatting at least you got two cards! Chris#87
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time at WOYWW and I hope you don't mind me looking around your blog while I am here.
Ria
You mean you are supposed to actually do things whilst at a crop? LOL I am always eating and chatting and get nothing done at all!! Annette
ReplyDeleteBella I am always tweaking my balance of how much to take to crops. Often I take to much and do too little. One thing I have learned is that the playful interaction is just as important as how many items you complete. I know a lady who plows through layouts but talks very little which kind of takes the fun and purpose of a crop. So what I am saying is that as long as you had good company and laughed, then it was very productive.
ReplyDeleteCome by my desk when you are free.
hugs,
Namesake
Well they are very pretty cards!!! I can only craft at my house because I need ALL my stuff, lol!!

LOL! I feel that way everytime I go to a play-date! Never get 10th of what I planned on getting done! I didn't get in this week; it was the same as last...how very sad.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Two and a half cards in two and a half hours is brilliant going. I wish I could get through that many, but then I do get distracted by trying new things, then I panic because I am so behind with my list of things to do. Have a good week. xx Maggie #32
ReplyDeleteI find that if I travel, unless it is to a class where the 'stuff' is supplied, I always forget something I need. Oh well, I always have fun talking. April #136
ReplyDeleteYou pack so neat for a crop! I zoomed into the desk and saw some really pretty cards! I also like how you have the cubies labeled with your stuff in them.
