I can't wait and the colours...I need all 24!

Aren't they just delicious?  You have to go to his blog HERE to see the video, this stuff is AWESOME.

What's on my workdesk Wednesday 187? Nothing!

Hello fellow desk hoppers.  I am in Julia's camp when it comes to knowing what day of the week it is...all these holidays are doing my head in as it feels like Monday all over again!

Well I have a clean desk to show you!
My Tim tag that I made yesterday is already hanging above me (like looking for a needle in a haystack I know so I have given you a close up of it so you know what you are looking for - its only fair!) and even my desk to the right of me is clear as seen below! I often use the eCraft cutter as a dumping ground.
I had a bit of a re-arrange of my stuff on the week-end when I added the top row of shelving to my ever growing storage compartments to house my Sizzix dies.  I had them in one of the drawers but they were hard to see what I had so they are now easy to reach and I can see what I have got.  If I can see it, I will use it!
Good thing I am 6ft tall and can reach it...don't think I can add another row though...and yes the S is cut off in this photo which makes for a more appropriate title...

Now I am off to see who else has remembered that it is Wednesday over at Julia's desk.

Thanks for the visit.

Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 - January

I cannot think of a better way to start the year than with a tag from Tim Holtz!  He started this new tradition last February instead of the 12 Tags of Christmas in December and is continuing it this year too!  I am doing such a happy dance!  It is like having a gift to look forward to at the beginning of each new month! Kind of like Christmas the whole year through!
Tim's tag is at the top of the page and mine is below it.  For once I had most of the items he chose to use except for the sentiment stamp which is such a pity as the words are fabulous, neither did I have the January stamp or Vial Labels...I have the pointing hand but chose not to use it cos I used the ticket stamp instead on my ticket die and replaced the January calendar stamp on the ribbon with "new and improved" from 7 Gypsies which went better with my sentiment about making something better.  I just love the way the Distress stains sparkle (in the photo above), they have such a different look to the paint dabbers.

Well Happy New Year to you and thanks for popping by my desk!

All the best for 2013!

I can't quite get my head round the fact that it is New Years Eve!  I really feel like I was only just getting to grips with 2012!

So in honour of today I have made this flying pig tag!  I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge where they are having a Totally mad Party!

I used Distress inks on the base of the tag, stamped into it with water and painted the die cut chipboard clock with gold and espresso dabbers.  I stamped the pig and cut him out then coloured him in with pencil crayons and added the clock to his tummy to accentuate the time flying idea.

So what ever you are doing this New Years Eve, may it be fun filled and stay safe.  See you in the new year!

Thanks for a fabulous year.

CSI Case No52...Christmas page

I don't often get the time to participate in the CSI Challenges, but they are always fun.  I really love their free downloads and find them quite inspirational.

My Evidence is twine and string as well as a base of Kraft paper and some tags.

My Testimony was journaling in my own handwriting and telling the story of the photo shoot.

Being a Tim Holtz product fan, I have used his Kraft Resist paper for the tag, his Santa stamp done in Jet black Archival ink and coloured with the white Picket Fence Distress Marker and filled in the background with Barn Door Distress Ink and some Walnut Stain.  I stamped the OXOX round the December part of the tissue tape and added the brads for extra texture and interest.  The gift and black writing strip are from the free images supplied as well as the viewfinder image below.

We never have family photos so this year we set up a tripod and put the camera on self timer and set about taking some shots.  It was taking 5 photos at a time and my hubby and I gave my son a kiss...this left him with lipstick from me on his cheek which I thought was so cute and laughed, he was trying not to laugh and that made me laugh more cos now he was pouting...our laughing made him cry as he was ever so offended by us laughing at him which made me so sorry.  The journaling is all about what happened and an official apology from me for making him cry.

Thanks for the visit.

Seasons Greetings WOYWW 186?

I wanted to say Happy Christmas...but it is after the event, so Seasons Greetings it is!

We had a fabulous family time and hope that you have enjoyed your Christmas too.

It is a scorcher today with no wind to cool things down, it was 27 degrees out there at 9am this morning!

My desk is a not very interesting mess so I am showing you the centre piece from yesterdays Christmas lunch on the farm.

Off to see what I can find on your desk at Julia's place...I should be doing loads of washing, in fact I should be hanging the next one up...it went beep...but it is nice and cool inside and this is more interesting!

What's on my workdesk 185? Too Much!

This is the aftermath of me converting Tim's 12 tags of 2012 to a Christmas version (posted here if you are interested) and the guillotine is still there from when I cut up the shop business cards yesterday...

This was taken on Sunday...My son and his little cousin fishing while an Nyala buck watches them...no wonder he did not want to come home...

...So...My son is with his cousins on the farm till tonight and my hubby and I went to see the Bond movie last night which was super fun as we don't go out much without much organising of baby sitters or sleep overs.  Felt like teenagers all over again.

So that's my desk for today, nothing exciting.  Now I am off to see what I can see on your desk if you have put it up for viewing on Julia's blog called Stamping Ground.

Thanks for the visit to my desk in Cape Town, South Africa!

Ranger gift wrap contest

Over at the Ranger site, they are having a contest.  They want you to use their products on your parcels!  What a cool idea.  I have been inspired by Tim's final tag for 2012 and have done something similar on the top of this box.

I have used Jet black Archival ink to stamp the Poinsettia with and then covered it in Barn Door Distress Ink as well as Mowed Lawn and the centre of it has a goodly dose of gold distress stickles for good measure!

The tag has been stamped with Jet Black Archival and the edged dusted with Barn Door Distress Ink to match the flower.

I have a lot of wrapping to do so I am keeping it effective but simple this year.
