Enmarc Challenge 23

This is a VERY different kind of page for me to do.  Firstly there is only one photo and secondly there are TONS of flowers everywhere.  I was having a chat with Carolyn and some of my students yesterday about those (IMO) "over the top" pages and how they could cost a fortune if you purchased all that stuff and then put it on one page.  However, the only two flowers that I bought on this page were the large orange one and the large burgundy one with the orange rose in its centre.  The rest have come from left overs from kits I have received at conventions.  I have also used 4 stickers off a BoBunny sticker sheet called Heart and Homey c2009.
Now the point of me doing this page was to enter the Enmarc challenge No23 where you have to use their page map and at least 2 of their products.  You can see a piece of "Jumbo Page Essentials - Mama's Lace" above with some bling  and orange Pan Pastels, that I have tucked under the curled corner of the top paper.  The other Enmarc product is one of the tags off the "Printed Whiteboard Fanciful Flights" set of 3 tags which I have tinted with magenta Pan Pastels, of which there is a close up below.  I did not have any of the bricks from Enmarc, but I loved the concept and so I used Gesso through a Prima stencil which I coloured with Magenta and Orange Pan Pastels when it was dry.

This is the page map I have followed.

Thanks for the visit.

Scrapbook Factory Shop Class

What a lovely bunch of people I got to teach today.  I had two mom and kid teams and they rocked this page.  So nice to see moms having some one on one time with their kids, doing something fun.

I used a lot of Tim Holtz stuff from the paper to the inks and dabbers down to the embellies except for the embossing folders and the "bra" of the one dress form where I had to substitute for something else due to the cost  and quantities required for the 16 peeps in class and the one lady Evette who will be getting her kit next week...I think I scoured Cape Town and bought everyone out of stock to kit up for this class. LOL!

Here are some of the peeps having fun, adjusting my page to suit themselves and their photos or making  it a single display techniques page to suit their scrap rooms at home.
Mary and her mom
Shamela above and her sister in law below, I did not get a shot of her daughter who was shopping...

Aimy who did really well in her first Tim Techniques class.

Alison who only just discovered that I can't spell and should not be trusted to hand out letters without supervision! She got PUCK which is a cross between PUNK and ROCK - don't ask!
Thank goodness computers have spell check or you would never know what I was trying to say!

Lisa and Ryan who scrapped his birthday photos from this year...how up to date is that?

Carolyn the Scrapbook Factory shop owner with her right hand lady Virginia

Laura and Barbs changing up my page to suit themselves which I love!
So there you have a few of us having fun
Thanks for the visit.

Compendium of Curiosities 2 challenge 6

I am trying very hard to participate in all the challenges each Friday on Linda's blog called Studio L3...So I got as far as making the shattered stained items last week, but some how ran out of time to make something for them to go on...therefore this week I have included one of the butterflies I made for the last challenge and have finally done this weeks challenge. PHEW.  Where does a week go?

The full instructions on how to do the technique I have used here are all in Tim's book on page 38.  As usual they are very clear and the photos are step by step so you just can't go wrong.   This week the challenge has a prize sponsored by The Funkie Junkie's Boutique.

Thanks for the visit.

12 Tags of 2012 - May

I have had such fun improvising on this tag.

I only have the Attic Treasures stamp set which is the smaller version for ATCs, so I could use some of the stamps, but the big dress from had to be made with the die cut from Sewing Room together with the cotton reel for the bottom as I don't have any wooden ones to sand flat.

I had to stamp on white tissue paper and glued it onto my tag which I had covered in Brushed Corduroy Distress ink which coloured the tissue paper quite nicely.

The dress form is made from Tim's Kraft Core paper which I sanded to show up the embossing I did with the Vintage Dressmaker by Couture Creations.

I don't have a melting pot though I do have the Utee to go in it.  (go figure) So all I did was to mini mist my rose with water, dip it in the Utee and heat, then while warm, dipped it again and heated it.  This seemed to work quite well.
As for the oval custom cash key charm, I changed that for a stamp and facet to make the ornament to hang off the hanger.  I also had a little pair of scissors which I thought appropriate to add to the mix on the twine.
So there you have my version of Tim's tag which you can find here together with all the instructions!

Thanks for the visit.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 4

Over at Linda's blog Studio L3 she is hosting a challenge every Friday of a technique from Tims book CC2.

Today's Challenge is page 43...you have to have the book in order to participate!  I had such fun doing this one and now my stuff is all packed in my vintage case to go to my convention tomorrow.

I am beyond excited...

Till tomorrow then.
