I can't quite get my head round the fact that it is New Years Eve! I really feel like I was only just getting to grips with 2012!
So in honour of today I have made this flying pig tag! I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge where they are having a Totally mad Party!
I used Distress inks on the base of the tag, stamped into it with water and painted the die cut chipboard clock with gold and espresso dabbers. I stamped the pig and cut him out then coloured him in with pencil crayons and added the clock to his tummy to accentuate the time flying idea.
So what ever you are doing this New Years Eve, may it be fun filled and stay safe. See you in the new year!
Thanks for a fabulous year.

CSI Case No52...Christmas page
I don't often get the time to participate in the CSI Challenges, but they are always fun. I really love their free downloads and find them quite inspirational.
My Evidence is twine and string as well as a base of Kraft paper and some tags.
My Testimony was journaling in my own handwriting and telling the story of the photo shoot.
Being a Tim Holtz product fan, I have used his Kraft Resist paper for the tag, his Santa stamp done in Jet black Archival ink and coloured with the white Picket Fence Distress Marker and filled in the background with Barn Door Distress Ink and some Walnut Stain. I stamped the OXOX round the December part of the tissue tape and added the brads for extra texture and interest. The gift and black writing strip are from the free images supplied as well as the viewfinder image below.
We never have family photos so this year we set up a tripod and put the camera on self timer and set about taking some shots. It was taking 5 photos at a time and my hubby and I gave my son a kiss...this left him with lipstick from me on his cheek which I thought was so cute and laughed, he was trying not to laugh and that made me laugh more cos now he was pouting...our laughing made him cry as he was ever so offended by us laughing at him which made me so sorry. The journaling is all about what happened and an official apology from me for making him cry.
Thanks for the visit.

Seasons Greetings WOYWW 186?
I wanted to say Happy Christmas...but it is after the event, so Seasons Greetings it is!
We had a fabulous family time and hope that you have enjoyed your Christmas too.
It is a scorcher today with no wind to cool things down, it was 27 degrees out there at 9am this morning!
My desk is a not very interesting mess so I am showing you the centre piece from yesterdays Christmas lunch on the farm.
Off to see what I can find on your desk at Julia's place...I should be doing loads of washing, in fact I should be hanging the next one up...it went beep...but it is nice and cool inside and this is more interesting!

What's on my workdesk 185? Too Much!
This is the aftermath of me converting Tim's 12 tags of 2012 to a Christmas version (posted here if you are interested) and the guillotine is still there from when I cut up the shop business cards yesterday...
...So...My son is with his cousins on the farm till tonight and my hubby and I went to see the Bond movie last night which was super fun as we don't go out much without much organising of baby sitters or sleep overs. Felt like teenagers all over again.
So that's my desk for today, nothing exciting. Now I am off to see what I can see on your desk if you have put it up for viewing on Julia's blog called Stamping Ground.
Thanks for the visit to my desk in Cape Town, South Africa!

This was taken on Sunday...My son and his little cousin fishing while an Nyala buck watches them...no wonder he did not want to come home...

Ranger gift wrap contest
Over at the Ranger site, they are having a contest. They want you to use their products on your parcels! What a cool idea. I have been inspired by Tim's final tag for 2012 and have done something similar on the top of this box.
I have used Jet black Archival ink to stamp the Poinsettia with and then covered it in Barn Door Distress Ink as well as Mowed Lawn and the centre of it has a goodly dose of gold distress stickles for good measure!
The tag has been stamped with Jet Black Archival and the edged dusted with Barn Door Distress Ink to match the flower.
I have a lot of wrapping to do so I am keeping it effective but simple this year.

12 Tags of 2012 December
Well I have been on a mission to get the 12 tags of 2012 converted to a pure Christmas version and I have succeed ..not without interruptions or "life happening" you understand! Which is why I have not blogged about them properly yet as we have just come back from a 3 day trip up to my brother in law's farm, but that will come.
I am officially now on leave from my studio, though I will be going into the Scrapbook store for the mornings to give Alison a bit of a break so she can get on with her hardware store stuff!
Here are the last two tags for the year of 2012. As usual I don't have all of Tim's equipment...something I am working on though I can assure you...and have had to change things up a bit. Instead of his snowman I have used his angel from the Joyful song set and have cut off her printed wings to add my metal ones for dimension. And on the other tag I have swapped out the die cut words for the printed words from the same stamp set. The rest of the two tags techniques are per Tim's instructions on his blog.
Here are the last 6 tags all together in their month order and as promised I will take photos of them in daylight and blog them separately.
Thanks for the visit

Tim's 12 Tags of 2012 Christmas version fast forward!
Well the idea was that I would do one a day till Christmas...I had the night "off" (in other words I did not have to teach, design pages, cards or do any other homework) and so I got another 4 tags done tonight!
Here they are as a group. I will photograph them individually in daylight and show you Tim's tag with the link on each upcoming day! At least the stress is off to create one a day so if "life happens" which it does a lot around here then there is no need to panic!
Thanks for the visit.

What's on my workdesk Wednesday 184? Tim's Tag
Hello fellow desk hoppers! I have been missing in action lately as this time of the year is a bit manic while I try to wind up my studio for the year and help run the store. At last things seem to have calmed down to a mild panic and I have 3 days of teaching left before taking a months break over the silly season. Even the store will be shut for 2 weeks of that time so I will get a decent amount of down time.
I decided yesterday that I am missing Tim's 12 tags of Christmas too much and have taken his 12 Tags of 2012 and am making a Christmas version of each one, starting with February, which means I should be finished just in time for Christmas with 2 days spare in case "life happens".
So here you see what my desk looked like as I left it last night from taking the photo above for the previous post. Total chaos surrounding the blank canvas I use to take my photos on.
Hope to see you next week too...Now I am off to Julia's (our host) desk to see who else has managed to join in the world wide desk snoop and peek...except she seems to be having a lie in today!
Thanks for the visit.

Tim's 12 Tags of 2012 Christmas version No1
Hello there
Well its official! I have withdrawals from the 12 tags of Christmas (never mind that tomorrow is the 12 day...) and have decided to start from the February tag and make each one into a Christmas version of the monthly tags that Tim did this year. Starting NOW...I should be finished in time for Christmas if I do one a day...and even have two days spare!
Here is Tim's February Tag and the technique instructions can be found on his blog in the Tag archives here.
