Well, the piles are on the floor, not really on my desk...but you get what I mean! The contents of the green album will be moved to the black album as the green one is one I made many years ago and it is not standard size and therefore does not fit the shelf I want to move my albums to...
Hello there fellow desk hopper, snooper and follower of Julia's place over at Stamping Ground! Welcome to the floor of my study in Cape Town, South Africa!
I have been scrapping for 10 years now and have quite a collection of albums. Mostly to do with my son (the pile on the left) as he was the reason I started scrapping...I now have a huge pile of albums as seen above (they are normally in the cupboard, but I needed to see what was missing) and even more scary, an enormous pile of pages not in albums as seen below.
I spent yesterday getting them into year piles and now I need to get each of those piles into chronological order and into an album! Considering these piles go back to 2007, I have my work cut out for me!
I started this process as I need to know what I still need to print and scrap to get my albums up to date. I am REALLY behind on this year...that I know for a fact, but it would seem that I am quite far behind on a few others as well!
So this is my desk (floor) for your perusal, now I am off to see what I can see on your desk (or work surface of choice...)
Thanks for the visit

CSI page about me!
One year on and I finally got it done thanks to the CSI blog that had downloads I could use for this page!
My Evidence is stripes and two different alphabets and my Testimony is the Diary entry...it s not about a friendship or a pet...rather about me and my relationship with food...sometimes friend, sometimes foe!
Thanks for the visit

Tim's September Tag for 12 tags of 2013
Well, it has taken me a while to get this done as I was hoping that the stencils would be available here soon, but I have given up waiting and have used stencils that I own by Prima, SA Stencil Store and Kaisercraft instead.
I followed Tim's instructions on his blog for this tag and really enjoyed the process.
Here is the tag before I added the stamps and embellies:
Then I made the ribbon using my Prima stencil
Lastly I added the ticket and the stamps to finish it off.
Thanks for the visit.

Layout using Tim Holtz stamps, Dies and inks etc
I don't know if it is legal to have as much fun as I have today with all my inks, sprays, dies and stamps!
I have not had a chance to just PLAY for a while.
I played with all the dies that I relate to...
I learned to type on a real typewriter.
My dad used to wake up to an alarm clock like this one.
I sat for hours chatting on a phone like this to my friends.
I studied photography with a real film camera.
I used white Bazzil card stock as a base. Stencilled the chevrons in the background using Distress paint. stamped the dress form with pearl paint dabber, over-stamped her with archival ink through a mask I made with the left over die cut paper. Randomly stamped the same flourish all round the page. Covered the paper with Distress ink in Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire as well as spritzed it with Denim Color Wash and water. Once the background was dry I added the photo and die cut embellishments then added glossy accents to strategic places.
I stamped a Prima clock for behind Tim's die cut and filled it with Crackle accents.
I tore some Coredinations paper for a mat behind my photo, sanded it a bit and distressed the edges of my photo. I made a stamp from Tim's Vintage Telephone die with foam and stamped it onto my page and cut along the top of the receiver to slot my photo under where I added glossy accents to the shiny parts and the finger dial holes. Just for fun I then also added glossy accent dots randomly to the page where I had sprayed some water which you can see shining in the photo below.
Thanks for the visit

Creating all my own paper and embellies
I have had such fun creating my paper using distress inks and stencils, then making all my embellishments with dies, punches and stamps.
Here is how I made this page:
I used white Bazzil card stock which I covered in Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed. Then placed a Kaizercraft template over the top and covered the bottom with Black Soot Distress ink and sprayed the top with water.
I made myself some tags by experimenting with distress paint and pearl paint dabber through another template to see what the effects were if I used them straight from the dabber or with a sponge on an applicator tool as Tim Holtz suggests in his video here from Scrap Time. Which I then covered in distress inks.
I punched out a Martha Stewart boarder, stamped it with a Tim Holtz stamp and inked it with Black soot Distress ink.
Then I die cut some tickets and a film strip from Tim's dies and stamped them with some Do Craft stamps which I cut up from a whole sheet.
I folded a piece of brown card stock which I die cut with Tim's camera so it made a card. I cut an inner for the card and glued it in place. Made the ring of the lens in another colour and layered it on some foam core that I had also run through the die. below you can see how it opens and I can journal in here later.
Hope you enjoyed that step out.

Inspired by Sandra de
Well, I have to thank Sandra de, my WOYWW friend for posting the canvasses she did in a workshop with Donna Downey today. I could not resist a play to see if I could reproduce sort of what she did...I bought Pan Pastels a year or more ago for a convention and have not used them since!
I got them out, dusted them off and got to work. Here is my version:
and this is Sandra's original below:

What's on My Workdesk Wednesday 223? A Layout in Progress
Hello Gentle WOYWWer from Julia's Place over at Stamping Ground. Welcome to my desk in Cape Town, South Africa where the sun is trying to shine through the end of season rain clouds to warm the soggy ground.
Here is my desk in the beginning stages of planning a layout for my November class I am teaching at my store...
Last week was more crazy than I anticipated and I had no time to snoop desks, so I appreciate all the comments left by those of you who came to visit.
I am off to see what I can see on your desk now if I can before work today!

Creative Chemistry 102 with Tim Holtz
Well, I was hoping Tim was going to do CC102...so nice when a dream comes true!
I am booked and ready for 7 October when this online class starts.
You need to have done Creative Chemistry 101 to be able to do this class...been there, got that apron!
Now I am wishing time would fly instead of bemoaning the fact that this year is vanishing before my very eyes!

What's On My Workdesk Wednesday 222? Multimedia Canvas
Hello fellow Wednesday Desk Hopper. Welcome to my desk in Cape Town, South Africa. Today I give you an overview of my work area as Julia posted on Monday about her new storage acquisition and so I promised her that I would show how I have lined all 6 of mine up.
Not a single one has paper in it...I wonder what the inventors of this 4 drawer paper storing unit would think when they see what us crafters use their products for. I have mostly stamps in mine and one or two have punches or lazer cuts.
Then here is a close up of my desk where I have used the Kaisercraft stencil/template with gesso and texture paste as a sample for a Multimedia class (part 2) that I am teaching tonight.
In the background you can see the cover of my art journal where I have used a local brand of crackle paint. It is quite the best I have ever used! Over my many years of crafting, I have tried many brands. This one allows you to fiddle a bit with the top layer and I am so excited to see it worked with the distress paints too as I tested a bit on the side of my canvas.
Well, that's me for today. Might be a tad late in desking as I have to be at school for my son at 8:00 today and then teaching tonight, so see you tomorrow!
