Whats on my workdesk Wednesday 234? Fake Phone

Hello fellow Desker
Welcome to my Desk over in Cape Town, South Africa, where the weather is winter one day and scorching summer the next...

Here is my desk in all its glory, full of new toys and cards I have just completed for this weeks orders.
It was my birthday a few weeks ago and I got a gift voucher for a local shopping centre where I recently spent an hour and a half perusing the stores...looking for that one thing I would never spend MY money on, but would dearly love.  I finally settled on the phone from TYPO...When is a phone not a phone dear desker?  When it is a light and a clock!  The handle is a light (and a bright LED one at that) and the dial is the clock.  It makes me smile every time I look at it.

Then there is the MS circle doily maker.  I have wanted one of theses since they came out at CHA...I got money from my Wednesday morning class of students and decided to get one of these and another punch.  Again, something I would not normally be able to afford.

These are such treats and I am really enjoying using them.

Here are the cards cluttering up my desk, fulfilling 2 of the 5 orders I have had for this week.
I love the challenge of bespoke cards and it pays for my crafting addiction...
so that is my desk, please have your say, as I am off to find your desk  at Julia's place and do the same.

Bella

  1. LOVE the fake phone, Bella! Great choice and happy belated birthday! Your creations are really superb!! Re linking before Julia publishes ... you can't do it, as far as I know, so you only get your number when you can physically link up after she posts. Thanks for coming to visit me! Happy WOYWW and have a wonderful week!! Hugs, Darnell

  3. Hi Bella-
For some reason it seems like its been eons since I've visited. Fun to see all your creativity. The phone just looks cool - that fact that it actually has some function is even better! I'm taken with the doily maker. Haven't heard or seen of that yet. I'd be interested to see the make out of it, should you think about that next week. Thanks!

  10. I'm in love with that phone, it's so gorgeous and functional, even if it's not a phone :) Your cards are fabulous, that bag is so cool and I love the star one.

  11. Hey, Happy Belated to you! Mine was last week as well and instead of lovely treats like your phone, I got mad cleaning for a visitor and then struck down with a nasty throat infection. Not at all fun.

I love your star card. Nifty idea to make the text cross the folds. What attention to detail! No wonder they help fund your "habit" LOL!

    Happy WOYWW!

  13. The phone is great - keep smiling at it! Lovely cards - I especially like the star one - it just looks so much fun to open.
Thanks for visiting earlier - If we manage to have a lift it will go behind where I took the photo of the desk - so no, I shan't lose my space, but may lose a little to have the radiator moved. Oh well, if it means the possibility of a cuppa in bed each morning......
    Have a great week.

  16. Keeping it old school with the fake phone! Love it. much better than something digital. I never had you down as a HM fan either, they are seriously cute though! Which one do you have? Stampendous have started producing some as cling stamps and on their website you can also buy digi images, works out much, much cheaper that way. Love the personal cards and the doily maker looks interesting.

  18. First of all, that phone was the first thing I noticed on your desk! I love it, even if it wasn't so practical, being a light and a clock! Good for you getting something with your birthday money that you wouldn't have bought otherwise.
Second, so happy to meet you, from South Africa. This WOYWW is so fun, as we meet new people. :)
Lastly, thank you so much for stopping by my desk. :)
