New Funky Fossil Designs By Me!

 Hello dear Readers

Sorry for the "radio silence" over the past 3 months... but I have been concentrating on running my webste and making video classes to load every Friday, plus traveling a lot.

Included in those travels, was a visit to the UK back in September when I was invited by Sarah from Funky Fossil to join her on the TV channel Create and Craft to launch my latest designs. Of course I jumped at the opportunity and loved the whole experience.

These are the new Characters in the Steampunk menagerie line up.  The Clockwork Woodland crew and the Fabulous Feathers crew.  I had fun playing with the old and new characters to see what new looks could be created as you can see below:

I always love a vintage vibe and made the woodland crew into a cepia photo look!
For this mini canvas I used the new Marvelous Machinery die to make my own foam stamp and then I also die cut some foam to raise the middle paper piece.  This die shape matches the mask stencil fro the April release.  I used that in the backgroun over the woodgrain paper.

Here you can see the raised foam center piece.

In this release there are pipe alphabet and numbers.  I have made sure that you can write words like Happy, Chrismas, Merry etc with enough letters for the word to put on your block.  To create the Happy Birthday above, I have used 2 stamp sets as there is only one H per set.  I also die cut the foam to make my own stamp to use for the drop shaddow in the card below.

I used the number stamp as a background stamp for this tag.
This is another way to use the alphabet with only one set to stamp in one go.
New to this release is the set of Wow embossing powders called Timeless.  they are really fantastic.

This art journal page was created using the copper mine for the word Steampunk on the die cut letters.

Here I am getting ready for the shows.  I took some fun outfits to present in.

Above you can see me with Yiannis  and below with my good friend Sam who was my host and taxi driver for the week-end... as well as my boss lady Sarah.
No trip to the studios is complete without the obligatory photo in the famous giant chairs...
Red and Blue...
I was lucky to meet Leonie too
We were in Studio 1

The design team made such awesome samples.
I really value their time and effort to make and send these to Sarah.

This was my view across the room as they were doing their show.  The little bots are the TV cameras!

Matching necklaces...
It is like moving house... so much stuff to take with for 2 shows...

My Website is live!

Dear reader

If I thought learning how to blog and setting that up way back when was brain gym... that had nothing on learning how to set up a website!

Add to that, making it complient with all the laws all over the world!

But... I did it! https://www.belindabasson.com/

It went live today and I am relieved that there weren't too many teething troubles.

I have set up an email waitlist for those who are interested in joining my membership area in July.  I am sure people don't realise that because of the EU laws, they have to "opt in" by going to their email and confirming the subscription...

So now I am thinking that I have to change the wording on my page... talk about a learning curve!

Next on my list of things "to do" is record all the class videos and made the digital downloads!

Exciting times!

Mini album using Funky Fossil papers and Stencils

Dear Reader

Here is my mini album made using the papers from Funky Fossil Engine Room 6x6" and 8x8" paper pads together with my stencils
This is the stencil - mask used on the front cover
Here are all the stencils done with gold glamour paste on black watercolour paper
Below is a close up of the glamour paste on the brown paper and where it was really thick, it cracked...
This is the cover of the album, I used the 8x8" papers to wrap around the chipboard base.
Next, I used my clear embossing pad on my wooden gears and gold embossing powder to make them shiny.

I forgot to photograph the cat stamp process with gold embossing powder separately, but I cut him (and the rest of the crew for the inside of the album) out on my Brother Scan n Cut which worked perfectly with a slight gap all the way round.

I then added the crackle stamp to the already cracked paste to make it look more intentional...
I masked off the stencil and tore a strip of fabric (Ikea curtain lining - calico) to make my own ribbon using a brush and Jet Black Archival ink.
Here is a close up of the cat with the ribbon running behind him.
I had a left over foot print from a stenciled image, so I added it to the cover.
I love how detailed the stencil is, and it worked perfectly on this fabric.

Here are the pages with the 6x6 paper cut to fit the pages so that there is a black border.
I also cut different shaped tags for photos to go in all the pockets and put different papers on the front and back sides of each tag.
For each tag, I made a skinny ribbon using the same fabric strips as the front cover

This is a close up of the tags with their ribbons.
