What's on my Workdesk Wednesday? Chaos!

Hello fellow desker... I forgot it was Wednesday!  Shock n horror! Here is my studio desk as I am already at work...the admin one above and a view of the one room in the studio itself, complete with all my lights on charge lying on the floor and 3 of the small ones on the table waiting for a gap on the multi plug as we had load shedding last night during my evening lesson...
What is load shedding?  It is where our electricity gets cut off for two hours at a time during peak usage periods as we do not have enough capacity as a country for every one to be on the grid at the same time...so we are on a roster and get allocated power outages...hard to comprehend for some of you I know, but this is what we have to deal with, so we do!

  1. They do that load shedding in California too, and with water....itsa near bankrupt state considering its one of the richest , ironic, huh! It's just something else to deal with and I like that you use rechargeables, I expect I'd just whine for a couple of hours!
I'm sorry you're on administration today, I'm at home today on cleaning and sorting..I really need to make the most of this time but oh the other stuff I want to do!

  2. Yes I can imagine we will be suffering power cuts if we don't do something about replacing our old power stations soon. Enjoy your crafting - you have a fab place to work there! x Jo

  3. Am, feeling for you Bella, I am also doing things I would rather not.. Rechargeable so handy, I must confess use them a lot rather than buying batteries. Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #20

  4. Great, busy craft room Bella. Interesting this 'shedding' - to my knowledge we don't do that here in Australia..but we do have water rationing during drought times - you can only water gardens every other day, but not really restricted in the house. Enjoy your week RobynO#9

  5. You have a fabulous setup for your art classes, which I'm sure are a lot of fun. I was fascinated by reading about the electricity load shedding program in South Africa. I believe something like that would help us appreciate the luxury of electricity better and keep the waste down in the USA. By the way, I my wife enables my Tim Holtz products addiction as well - LOL! Happy WOYWW! #43

  6. Not a smidge of space left on the desk, but you certainly have lots of room to spread out elsewhere. We have planned outages also, but the are just on our central air conditioning units. Do lose all power or just some? I hope it's the latter. Glad I stopped by for WOYWW! Susanne #45

  8. Well, I'd never heard of that before! I suppose you have no choice to accept it but it must be annoying. We are so used to having power without really thinking about it.
Admin is a necessary evil...I hate doing it!

  9. Goodness me...perhaps my husband wasn't bonkers after all when he decided we should stock up on candles incase of power outages (though I think he was probably preparing for something more elaborate like zombie apocalypse!). Very envious of your fab workspace. Happy crafting :-)

  12. What a mess losing electricity - were you actually teaching a class?
Great studio you have, have you seen I included your atc and things today? I was not able to do it the week before as I was too focused on Eliza. I do miss her dearly.

  13. Fantastic work space, love it. I didn't know about the electricity problem, we are really quite lucky in the UK. Unless there is a cable problem of some kind we get it none stop. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 28

  14. Wow, had no idea about power shedding. Sounds like you have a system all organised to cope. In OZ we were leaders in solar power and alternative energy technology but change of Government has lead to us abandoning all in place of coal!!! Makes me cross. Always lovely to see a craft desk and admin desk brimming with activity.
