I am making a point of trying to join in with the desk snoop over at Julia's place every Wednesday... for short we call it WOYWW and post a picture of our current desk or project for eachother to enjoy!
So today on my desk feels like a million different things...
from left to right...
The bright red box is my set of CDs to learn German (I moved to Berlin from South Africa 9 months ago)
Next to this is my new stamp set still in its packaging, waiting patiently to be inked and tested and used and this is lying on top of my collection of AALL & Create square stencils.
The white things behind these are moulds cast from a Stamperia mould in polyurethane, ready for the mini album I want to make of the Alice in Wonderland event I did the decor for 2 years ago...
Three packets of micro beads from Flyng Tiger... and the giant dustbin with Milkshake on it on the other side of my desk is also from my shopping spree there yesterday...
Front and center is my new Lawn Fawn Pivot pop up card die which I am experimenting with. (2 wire cutters are to take the new die appart)
Moving further right... there are some silicone moulds which I borrowed from my friend Olga to cast some things for my stash.
Behind these is a black 3D printed (yes, I have a 3D printer... It's lots of fun) scull and crossbones ready for a giant 2m x 60cm banner I am making for someone.
Lastly the piece of sticky non slip shelf mat that Tim suggested we use under our ink pads to stop them playing "air hockey" on our desks when trying to use them one handed. A total game changer for me!
I won't go into the general chaos at the back of my desk... cos even I don't know why half that stuff is still on my desk... other than the empty cofee cup, which will be refilled for me to sit and visit other people participatig in this desk hop!

I love the massive I love Milk shake tub on your desk and the fact that you have a 3D printer - the skull and cross bones are fab! Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week, with love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#5)
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you back, Bella. I love the look of your desk! So much industry, and so many interesting things to look at. There seems to be some steampunk going on which I always enjoy! That idea of the non-slip mat is great, and something I must do, because the ink pads on my new Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat not only skate about all over the place, but they make an appalling noise when they do it - like fingernails on a blackboard lol! I expect by next WOYWW you will see me using a mat like that.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit. Kitties are so funny, aren't they!!
Happy WOYWW,

Ha, that bin is really cool. Flying Tiger always ends up making me spend money on stuff that sits about waiting for me to have an idea for...it’s a stash hoarder’s dream! Your desk never gives away quite what you’re working on, you have a real skill in being able to plot and plan more than one thing at once, I am so tunnel visioned myself! Like the big camera stamp set, the lightbulb in particular!
ReplyDeleteI really love your bin....if it was ever full of milkshake you really do love it :-) Thanks for visiting me earlier. I really do enjoy my sewing but I'm finding these little rabbit clothes challenging to make....I reread the instructions for the waistcoat about 6 times before it made sense...and I'm a sewer!!

HAPPY WOYWDW
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of lovely things you have on your desk all ready for action,
Lilian B # 7
I used to love visiting Flying Tiger when I was in Amsterdam - so many silly things to look and laugh at and so many useful bits and bobs to buy. Great shop!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your alice in Wonderland creation - I am such a fan of Alice and am watching Tim Burton's Through the Looking Glass at the moment. Of course I have lots of Alice Stamps and you might spy my magnets on my desk some time that my bff bought me. Wonder if I will ever get around to painting the Alice wooden figures I once bought?
Enjoy learning the German, I tried and failed, must be much easier when you live there - you will be fluent in no time.
Hugs, Neet xx 6
I'm glad you're settle in Germany - why the move? Was it with work? It must be quite different from SA, hope you're enjoying it. A 3D printer sounds fun, especially the use you're putting it to!

I agree with Julia about Flying Tiger! Great to see you - and your busy desk - again this week. so good you're back in the gang! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteLovely lot of projects on your desk Happy WOYWW x Angela #22
ReplyDeleteGood luck learning German. I lived in Germany for 6 years and became quite fluent in the language but nowhere as quickly as my baby son. His first word was 'nein'! I like the tip to prevent ink pads slipping. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #18
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks quite 'normal' to me, perhaps with the exception of the 3D printer, that must be amazing! My favourite thing is that new giant bin, I love it. Anne xx
ReplyDeleteHi Bella, I love moulds they are so useful and I like making my own too but a 3D printer must be a great piece of kit. No crafting has taken place where I am I'm pleased to say. Sending you lots of crafty woyww wishes, Angela x3x
ReplyDeleteWhat brilliant 3D skull embellishments and home printed even better. Great range of crafty stash on your desk too. Hope the German is going well. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
